Auto-Coding

Auto-Coding uses AI to automatically apply your codebook categories to interview transcripts, identifying relevant text segments.

What this section is about

Manual coding is time-consuming. This feature analyzes your interview text against your codebook definitions and automatically identifies segments that match each category. You can review, adjust, and export the results.

When you should use this

Use Auto-Coding when you:
•    Have imported interviews
•    Have created a codebook
•    Want to accelerate initial coding
•    Need consistent category application

How it works

1. Navigate to Qualitative > Coding
   
2. Select your codebook from the dropdown
   
3. Select an interview to code
   
4. Click "Automatisch kodieren" (Auto-code)
   
5. Review results:
   •    Coded segments appear as cards
   •    Each shows: Category, Text snippet, Confidence score, Position
   •    Add memos for notes
6. Filter by category:
   •    Use dropdown to view specific categories
   •    Review all coded segments for a category
7. Adjust as needed:
   •    Results are saved automatically
   •    Add manual codings if segments were missed
   •    Delete incorrect codings
   
   

Important notes
•    Auto-coding is a starting point, not final analysis
•    Always review results for accuracy
•    Confidence scores indicate match strength
•    Low-confidence codings need more review
