Topic Ideas Generator

The Topic Ideas Generator helps you brainstorm and refine thesis topics when you are in the early planning stage. It transforms a rough idea into structured academic suggestions.

What this section is about

Finding the right thesis topic is often the hardest part of starting academic work. The Topic Ideas Generator takes your initial concept and produces three structured suggestions, each with research questions, methodology recommendations, and relevance explanations.

When you should use this

Use the Topic Ideas Generator when you:

  • Have a vague idea but need structure
  • Want to explore different angles of a topic
  • Need help formulating research questions
  • Want to compare different research directions

How it works

  1. Navigate to Writing > Topic Explorer > Topic Ideas
  2. Enter your information:
    1.  Working Title: Your rough topic idea (for example, "Sustainability in fashion")
    2. Description: Context about your program, interests, or constraints
    3. Language: German or English output
  3. Click "Generate Suggestions"
  4. Review the three suggestions, each containing:
    Refined title
    2-3 research questions
    Suggested methodology
    Relevance explanation
    Initial source recommendations
  5. Select a suggestion to expand it into a full structure with:
    Introduction draft
    Problem statement
    Objectives
    Expanded methodology notes
  6. Copy the structure or let it auto-save to your library

Important notes
•    These are suggestions, not final decisions - always discuss with your supervisor
•    The AI uses general knowledge at this stage, not your specific sources
•    Research questions should be refined as your project develops
•    Source recommendations are starting points for literature search
